Happy 44th Anniversary Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes

The Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes in Bongco - Bga. Bante celebrated its 44th Foundation Day last August 15, 2010.

It has been 44 years since the establishment of the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes.  This parish is the witness of the history of its neighboring barangay particularly the Bongco and Bga. Bante.  The original wood and lumber church had been replaced with concrete bricks and metals. According to father Villasis "he is the 9th parish pries of our parish" and "great to know that a lot of Nuns and Priest came from this parish".  And one of them is Msgr. Domingo Erfe who also celebrated mass together with Father Villasis.

The ongoing beautification and projects will surely make our church more comfortable for all its parishioners. Major projects had been completed and some are on going.  The Grotto of Lourdes is now on the right side of the church.  The parish convent is now located at the back while  the belfry found just in-front, on the right side of the church.

Still there's a lot of things to work on for our church. With the help of every individual and parishioners I'm sure when the church reach its golden jubilee years this would be one of the magnificent church in Iloilo.

Kita bilang mga parokyano may responsibilidad sa aton palibot kag simbahan... Let's share what we have and show to the world that we are in unison to make God's home (and of course our too) beautiful.  Take note good intention should be coupled with good action.
